Cultural and Academic Boycott
The Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel (PACBI) declared a boycott in 2004 against Israeli academic and cultural institutions.
The cultural boycott responds to Israeli cultural institutions’ efforts to sustain and normalize Israel’s illegal occupation, colonization of Palestine, and apartheid. The academic boycott aims to cut ties with Israeli universities and other academic institutions. Israeli universities are involved in sustaining Israel’s illegal occupation and apartheid and participate in developing equipment used by the military, as well as the systematic discrimination of Palestinians.
In Finland, hundreds of individuals and organizations have committed to the cultural and academic boycott.
