The ‘Learning Palestine’ course presents… Guest lecture on ‘Israeli activism, Zionism, and the Decolonization of Palestine’ with Alice Baroni.

Summary: Drawing from extensive fieldwork in Palestine-Israel, the lecture will provide an overview of the current landscape of Jewish-Israeli activism in Israel, will situate it in the socio-political context of Israeli Zionist society, and will elaborate on the role it can (and cannot) play in the struggle for the decolonization of Palestine.
Bio:
Alice Baroni is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Turku and expert on settler colonialism in Palestine and settler solidarity.
The lecture will be followed by a discussion with Anaïs Duong-Pedica (Turku with Palestine activist, PhD researcher at Åbo Akademi University on settler colonialism in Kanaky/New Caledonia) and a Q&A with the audience.
Everyone is welcome, also those who aren’t students at the university.
The lecture will take place face-to-face at the University of Turku and online.
