Open Call: Sumud’s Palestine Grant

Sumud is launching a new grant for Palestinians living in Finland. The grant supports projects and activities that advance the human and political rights of Palestinians and strengthen solidarity with Palestine.

Are you a Palestinian living in Finland and want to contribute to changing the current political atmosphere? Would you like to organise a film screening, create a video or publication, hold an event, or develop another initiative related to Palestine? Apply for Sumud’s Palestine Grant!

Sumud – the Finnish Palestine Network is launching a new grant for Palestinians living in Finland. The grant supports projects and activities that advance the human and political rights of Palestinians and strengthen solidarity with Palestine.

About the grant

A total of 500 € is available, which will be awarded to two applicants. Each selected applicant will receive a grant of 250 €.

The grant can be used for a wide range of projects and activities. For example, you could organise a film screening, discussion or workshop, create a video, publication or other form of media, organise a cultural or political event or develop another initiative that contributes to Palestinian rights and solidarity. We welcome different kinds of ideas and approaches!

Projects should follow Sumud’s principles and be carried out during 2027. After completing the project, grant recipients will be asked to submit a short report (approx. 1 page) describing what was done with the grant.

The grant is open to Palestinians living in Finland.

How to apply

Please submit an application (max. 2 pages) that includes:

  • a description of your project idea and its goals
  • a tentative timeline
  • a budget explaining how you would use the 250 € grant

Also attach the applicant's CV.

Send your application via email to Sumud's organisational coordinator Jasmin Paananen at coordinator@sumud.fi by 31 October 2026. Please title the email "Palestine Grant application: [your name]".

Selection and payment

The final decisions will be made by Sumud's board. All applicants will be informed of the decision in December 2026, and the selected projects will be announced on Sumud’s website.

The grants will be paid in January 2027.
