Compassion's Purse petition

This petition can be signed by anyone who wants to call on the church to invest ethically and take action for justice in Palestine.

Sign the Compassion’s Purse petition and call on the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland to act ethically in its investments. The petition will be delivered to the Church Council and the Bishops’ Conference in January 2027.

We call on the church to:

• State that it will not invest in companies that are complicit in human rights violations in Palestine, including companies that operate in Israel’s illegal settlements.
• Check whether it has investments in such companies, including indirectly via investment portfolios, and if so, begin a process of divestment.

This action can be taken both by the church centrally and by individual parishes. By divesting, the church would uphold its best traditions of moral leadership and set a strong example for other institutions of how to promote a just peace in Palestine.
